Colorado vs LA Galaxy: Galaxy dominate Colorado Rapids 3-0 in MLS clash. Read how Harbor Miller & Elijah Wynder scored first goals in Colorado – LA Galaxy showdown.
The LA Galaxy finally snapped their four-game winless streak with an emphatic 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night, thanks to first career MLS goals from Harbor Miller and Elijah Wynder, along with a strike from Gabriel Pec.
The win came as a welcome relief for the Galaxy (4-16-7), who have struggled to find consistency this season. Goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski, making his first MLS appearance since 2023 following knee surgery, had a relatively quiet evening with one save, ensuring a clean sheet.
Miller Opens His MLS Account
The breakthrough came in the 7th minute when 18-year-old defender Harbor Miller scored his first professional goal. Sprinting onto a well-timed centering pass from Miki Yamane, Miller unleashed a first-time shot from just inside the box that rocketed past Zack Steffen to give the Galaxy an early 1-0 lead.
Wynder Doubles the Advantage
In the 55th minute, Elijah Wynder, 22, also etched his name into MLS history by scoring his first goal. Wynder initiated the play, passing centrally to Yamane on the right. Yamane returned the ball with a one-touch cross, and Wynder calmly redirected it into the net to make it 2-0.
Colorado vs LA Galaxy: Pec Seals the Win
Brazilian forward Gabriel Pec capped off the night in the 75th minute. Running onto a long through ball from veteran Marco Reus, Pec outpaced the Rapids’ defense and coolly slotted the ball through Steffen’s legs from close range, sealing the 3-0 victory.
Rapids’ Missed Opportunity
The Rapids (10-12-6), who had just recorded back-to-back wins for the second time this season, were unable to replicate that form on the road. Despite Zack Steffen making two saves, defensive lapses left them exposed against a motivated Galaxy side.
The defeat also served as payback for LA, who lost 2-0 to Colorado in Denver on June 25.
What’s Next
The Galaxy will look to build momentum from this much-needed victory as the season enters its final stretch. For Miller and Wynder, their first goals mark what could be the beginning of promising MLS careers.
